Still crazy (mom) after all these years ...

After talking to him for no less than three consecutive days about it, Chris forgot to put the garbage and recycle cans out on the curb for collection this morning. Again. I gritted my teeth, counted my blessings (cuz the garbage truck hadn't come yet), thought about doing it myself for the 48th time in 50 weeks …. but in the end decided I wasn’t gonna’ wrestle all three heavy cans to the curb in my work-wear and I knocked on his door and reminded him … nicely … really.

so he got up

and he put the cans on the curb

and I felt sort of guilty for making him get up … but darn it!

A short time later, I was warming up my truck in preparation for the drive to work and taking the opportunity to clean out all the fast food junk and garbage that had piled up inside it as a result of my judging weekend. As I turned toward the can (now on the curb) I passed Chris’s little Honda and noticed that he also had some car garbage in the form of old newspapers and fast food trash and I thought I’d be nice (and alleviate some guilt at the same time). So I swooped up his car garbage too, putting anything that looked remotely important in his glove box, and took everything to the trash can.

and went to work

So it’s lunch time and I'm at Bed Bath and Beyond struggling with the weighty decision of which shower shelf to buy to hold the ever-expanding number of potions and lotions in my shower when my phone rings ……. “Mom, when you took all my stuff out of my car did you see my check stub?” ….. “It’s in your glove box” …. “Don’t do that again, ok” ……. “You’re kidding, right?” …. “No, seriously I went out to the car because I knew right where it was and it wasn’t there and then I …………………..., “Ok, got it. I’ll talk to you later, bye.” and I hung up.

Argh!

It's true what they say ....... no good deed goes unpunished!
